April 2019 Update

Hello “Streamers!

Winter doesn’t want to release it’s grasp on Montana! Woke up this morning to snow on the ground with temps in the 30’s(F). The “Dust Off the Cobwebs” Rally has been cancelled due to flooding from the Yellowstone River. Our Spring Rally in Deer Lodge, Montana is still on with updated info in our April Newsletter that can be read on this site.

For those of you who need repair work done to your trailer, one our members, Glenn Specking, can surely handle the job. He’s located in Townsend, MT and does superb work at a reasonable price. I’ve had Glenn work on my trailer and have been very happy with his work. A link to info for Glenn, can be found in the April Newsletter on this site.

That’s all I have for now, so

March 2019 Update

Hello Airstreamers!

With Old man Winter finally leaving us, hopefully, we can start planning our travels for camping season. I have updated our activities page to reflect the rallies planned for this year. The latest newsletter from the Montana Airstream Club can also be found on our Newsletter page. I hope to see ore of you this year at our rallies. We are still looking for someone to fill the empty Vice-President slot. There is not much work involved except to assist me in my duties as President. With that being said,

January 2019 Update

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season. Here in Montana, We have yet to really have traditional Winter weather. The snow has been light and barring a few days of single digit temperatures, the temperature has been mild.

Our December luncheon went well with 13 of us in attendance. Our next luncheon will be held at the Mint Café in Townsend, MT at 12 noon on Jan. 12th. If you plan to attend, please let me know by email so I can let the Mint know how many will be attending.

The latest newsletter from our club can be viewed on this site. Keep warm and Keep ‘Streamin’.

November 2018 Update

Hello fellow “Streamers”!

Winter is coming, Hunting season is winding down and Thanksgiving is behind us. I hope everyone is in good spirits and health and ready for the onslaught of Christmas! I, myself, refuse to participate in the insanity of fighting people for gifts in the stores and prefer to sit back in the comfort of my warm house with drink in hand and let my fingers do the work of securing gifts online with free shipping from Amazon. Why put more stress in your life?

Anyway, the latest Newsletter is available to peruse on this site. We have a Winter Luncheon coming up Dec. 8th at 12:00 noon at the Thirsty Turtle Restaurant in Big Timber, MT. Anyone wishing to come, please contact as soon as you can so I can secure reservations. I have secured a site for our Spring Rally in Deer Lodge, MT for 12 full service sites. Please contact me if you are interested in coming.

That about wraps it up for this month. Read the Newsletter for other upcoming events and Keep Streamin’.

October 27, 2018

Hello fellow members!

Fall is in full swing and it’s time to think about winterizing our

trailers. Here in Montana, the Winters can be cold and long, so it is

best to make sure your trailer is winterized to prevent Spring

problems.

As most of you know, I was inducted in as President of the Montana

unit at our last HAB in Lewistown. Unfortunately, no one has stepped

up to assume the responsibility of Vice-President. For our unit to

survive, this officer position needs to get filled. There are plenty of

seasoned members that can help guide the individual with the

responsibilities of Vice-President, me being one. The commitment is for

only 2 years and then to assume the position of President. If you, as

members, enjoy the camaraderie of our rallies and would like to see it

continue, someone needs to step-up to insure our club’s survival.

On another note, I have been putting together dates for our Winter

Luncheons, the first being early December 8th at the Thirsty Turtle

restaurant in Big Timber. The dates and places can be found in the

Activities page. I have also investigated having our Spring Rally in Deer

Lodge during their Territorial Days celebration June 14 and 15. The

rally would run from June 13-16 at the Indian Creek Campground in

Deer Lodge, MT. I would like to get some feedback on this rally

because we need to book this soon to guarantee having sites secured.

We would have full hook-ups for around $39/Night. Please contact me

by phone or email so I know how many sites to reserve.

Depending on weather, we will have an early Spring Rally (Dust off

the Cobwebs) at the Grey Bear fishing access site. This will be entirely

weather dependent. Last Spring, the campground was underwater due

to the Yellowstone River flooding. This rally is a great time to get our

trailers out for the first time after Winter and find out what problems

need to be addressed. I will post more info as to date in the next

newsletter.

For 2019, I would like us to have our Spring Rally in Fort Benton

during their Summer Celebration Festival. It would be at the Benton RV

Park and Campground. We would have full hook-ups in pull-through

sites. I know this rally is a year and a half away, but the campground

is booked a year in advance for this festival. We would need to book it

soon to guarantee secured sites. Let me know what you think about

this idea.

I hope a lot of members will be able to attend our Winter luncheons,

so we can talk about the rallies. Enjoy the Holidays!

April 2018 Update

Hello Fellow Airstreamers!

Winter doesn’t seem to want to relinquish it’s hold on Montana. Record snowfalls for April have been recorded and the weather hasn’t started to warm significantly yet. Hopefully, Father Winter will release his hold on our area and allow us to get our trailers out and camping again.

Our first Rally of the year ( Cinco de Mayo Rally) will be held at Dick’s RV near Great Falls May 3rd- 6th.. The itinerary has been set and can be viewed here; Cinco de Mayo Spring Rally 2018
