The latest Newsletter from the Montana Airstream club is ready to view on this site. We have a Spring Rally coming up in May at the Choteau Fairgrounds in Fort Benton. You can see the details in the newsletter. The weather has been unusually warm, but I think more inclement weather will be arriving. I’m looking forward to be able to get out camping this year especially after the “Plandemic” lockdowns. Make sure to check your rig thoroughly before venturing out for the first time this season.
It has been a while since I have posted an update. Because of the “Plandemic”, surgeries and nothing going on, I haven’t had the time to post. The latest Newsletter can be found on the site. Hoping for a better year with more time to camp.
Our last Rally of the year is coming up Sept. 3rd-7th at the Koocanusa RV Resort and Marina 24 miles north of Libby, MT. So far, we have 10 trailers attending this rally. Anyone that has not contacted me about going, please get in touch so a spot can be reserved for you. All the info for this rally is included in the latest newsletter found on this site. Hope to see you there!
Hello Fellow Airstreamers!
This year has been one for the books! Having to cancel many of our rallies has been very disappointing. The Montana Unit still plans on having a Rally at the Koocanusa RV Resort and Marina Sept. 3rd-7th. Unfortunately, the Canadians won’t be joining us because of the border closure. There is a possibility the border will open, but Dona Dumont President of the Alberta/Saskatchewan said not to count on them. So, instead of it being a “Hands Across the Border” rally I have decided to retitle it the “Northern Exposure” rally. All members of the Montana Unit and other units in the states are welcome to join us. I have 10 open sites and but need to know ASAP if you are planning on attending so I can plan for meals and activities.
That’s all for now….
I hope everyone is staying safe amid this “Plandemic”. There hasn’t been much to talk about over the last few months with most everything being shut down. Here in Montana, we are finally starting to see businesses opening back up as well as campgrounds.
Two big rallies, International and Region 10, were both cancelled and here locally, the Fiddler’s Picnic in Livingston was cancelled. I am still planning on having our “Hands Across the Border” rally Labor Day weekend in Libby, MT as long as the Canadian border opens up in time. Anyone interested in attending this rally, please contact me. So far, 7 of the 20 sites have been spoken for. I am not collecting money at this time but will gladly save you a spot if you contact me. Details of this Rally can be found in the latest newsletter on this site.
That’s all the info I have for now,
It seems like Winter is slow in arriving. Taking advantage of the mild weather, Teri and I took a trip to the Libby area to secure a place for us to have our 2020 HAB Rally. We settled on the Koocanusa RV Resort and Mrina, 24 miles north of Libby. 20 full-service sites have been secured with 30amp service. Anyone wishing more info on this, please see the newsletter on this site.
We will be having a luncheon at Steve’s Café in Helena, MT on Feb. 22nd at noon. If you plan on attending please contact me as soon as possible so I can let the restaurant know the number of people so we can be seated together.
That’s All for this month,
Mother Nature has been throwing curve balls here in Montana. Below normal temperatures and high snowfall has started way too early! This “Fallter” (Fall/Winter) could be the pre-curser to a hard winter.
We will be having a Winter luncheon on Nov. 9th, 12:00 noon at Sidewinders Grill in Bozeman. Please email me if you plan to attend so I can make the appropriate reservations.

That’s all for now

It’s only a few weeks before our Spring Rally in Deer Lodge. So far, 11 of the 12 sites have been filled. I have made reservations for tours of the Old Montana State Prison as well as the Ranch House at Grant -Kohrs Ranch. There are other attractions to visit and Deer Lodge’s Territorial Days Celebration will be going on Friday and Saturday with vendor booths, car show, music and Dancing. The latest newsletter on this site has a link to our itinerary for the rally or you can view it HERE.
Looking forward to seeing all who can attend! That’s all for now, so:
Winter doesn’t want to release it’s grasp on Montana! Woke up this morning to snow on the ground with temps in the 30’s(F). The “Dust Off the Cobwebs” Rally has been cancelled due to flooding from the Yellowstone River. Our Spring Rally in Deer Lodge, Montana is still on with updated info in our April Newsletter that can be read on this site.
For those of you who need repair work done to your trailer, one our members, Glenn Specking, can surely handle the job. He’s located in Townsend, MT and does superb work at a reasonable price. I’ve had Glenn work on my trailer and have been very happy with his work. A link to info for Glenn, can be found in the April Newsletter on this site.
That’s all I have for now, so
