Hello fellow members!
Fall is in full swing and it’s time to think about winterizing our
trailers. Here in Montana, the Winters can be cold and long, so it is
best to make sure your trailer is winterized to prevent Spring
problems.
As most of you know, I was inducted in as President of the Montana
unit at our last HAB in Lewistown. Unfortunately, no one has stepped
up to assume the responsibility of Vice-President. For our unit to
survive, this officer position needs to get filled. There are plenty of
seasoned members that can help guide the individual with the
responsibilities of Vice-President, me being one. The commitment is for
only 2 years and then to assume the position of President. If you, as
members, enjoy the camaraderie of our rallies and would like to see it
continue, someone needs to step-up to insure our club’s survival.
On another note, I have been putting together dates for our Winter
Luncheons, the first being early December 8th at the Thirsty Turtle
restaurant in Big Timber. The dates and places can be found in the
Activities page. I have also investigated having our Spring Rally in Deer
Lodge during their Territorial Days celebration June 14 and 15. The
rally would run from June 13-16 at the Indian Creek Campground in
Deer Lodge, MT. I would like to get some feedback on this rally
because we need to book this soon to guarantee having sites secured.
We would have full hook-ups for around $39/Night. Please contact me
by phone or email so I know how many sites to reserve.
Depending on weather, we will have an early Spring Rally (Dust off
the Cobwebs) at the Grey Bear fishing access site. This will be entirely
weather dependent. Last Spring, the campground was underwater due
to the Yellowstone River flooding. This rally is a great time to get our
trailers out for the first time after Winter and find out what problems
need to be addressed. I will post more info as to date in the next
newsletter.
For 2019, I would like us to have our Spring Rally in Fort Benton
during their Summer Celebration Festival. It would be at the Benton RV
Park and Campground. We would have full hook-ups in pull-through
sites. I know this rally is a year and a half away, but the campground
is booked a year in advance for this festival. We would need to book it
soon to guarantee secured sites. Let me know what you think about
this idea.
I hope a lot of members will be able to attend our Winter luncheons,
so we can talk about the rallies. Enjoy the Holidays!
